Developmental Knitting

I'm developing a scarf that is a cowl/infinity scarf and a cape all in one.

Wear the, ribbon in this case, loose for a cowl scarf. I plan on working on a cord that may button or connect at the end, I'm not sure yet.

Cinch it and you have a cape.

Finished Tube Scarf

An experiment...

didn't turn out too bad.

So it took me more than a week to finish tubing. I have too many projects going on at the same time! I'm on a spirit lead schedule here.

Tubing on Sunday

I stumbled on a crochet jewelry artist yesterday and was completely inspired.

I spent most of the day making tubes.

Different sized tubes for different purposes.

The tube at the top will be a cool scarf and the skinny tubes will be a necklace and bracelet. I love tubing!

Too Many Things At The Same Time

Never go poking around for new patterns when you already have a perfectly good one! Why would I do that to myself? This face is much harder and I'm not sure I like it. Though it is more cat like, where my pattern is more kitten like. This is a prototype.

Don't worry, I'm still working on the bears, they're to the right in a messy little pile. It's their foot pads that are holding me up.

I need to sew on it's ears, needle felt a nose and embroider a mouth.

Right, it needs a tail also. This piece is only jointed at the neck.

Finished another granny scarf this morning while on the phone with sis.

I like these colors. Are they the ones I used on the vest?

Wire crochet I did before bed last night while Daniel was hogging the bathroom.

I have to force myself to go grocery shopping today. When there are this many projects going on I want to stay home and work.

Grannies Made Simple

I love making granny square scarves but anytime I make make a project easier I will! Here, instead of making single granny squares, I've started with a single crochet type chain the length I wanted the scarf.

I didn't count my stitches, though you're supposed to. That would have driven me crazy. I made a triple treble at the end to make my corners. Now I only have to stop to change colors or skeins. This one I'm only using one color but the next one I'll choose a couple. I had to make sure I could figure it out first.

I trebled into every third stitch down the chain with 1 stitch in between each treble. By the way, a treble is 3 double crochet done into one stitch. I made a triple treble at the opposite end and did the same down the other side making sure to treble into the same stitches as before. This makes the center look nice and neat.

Make your scarf as wide as you like. I'm probably adding a scallop row to finish.

Latest Project

There are a few of us that have discovered how beautiful Patons SWS yarns are. They have a nice sheen, have that long fiber of wool, and the most gorgeous colors. Oh, they are natural yarns made of wool and soy.

If you have discovered this yarn you'll also know that it's not easy to find anymore. The only place I can get it now is online, but it's worth it.

This is a commissioned scarf I was asked to do just because of the Patons yarn called Natural Geranium. If you see some, try it out!

Scallops

We had a pretty snow yesterday. It was the perfect backdrop for finishing a scarf.

I had finished sewing the blocks together and was about to put fringe on.

But I thought that a scallop border would pull it together. I'm very pleased with it and I hope our friend is too!

A Little Snowy

Not enough to keep Gil home from school but enough to keep me from going out this morning.

I'll finish this scarf that needs to be done by Sunday, it's a gift. This one will need fringe. I could have sworn, when I was at the store, that the yarn was blue and moss colored but it sure looks purple now!

Orange Pink and Silver

Well I'm done this scarf, I kinda sat on it a while.

These may take longer than a knitted scarf. I'm thinkin a hat or mittens to match.

Pink Orange And Gray

I have about 9" of the front of Gil's sweater finished so far. I made mom do the ribbing on it and on the cuffs before she left. Her contribution, plus I hate ribbing. I started knitting a scarf with some "Amazing" yarn from Lions Brand. It's now in the stores, yipee! So I needed a crochet project to do in between so my wrists wouldn't hurt.

Here it is, right now it's about 58". I just made a chain the length I wanted. Now the going around part. I bought some matching eyelash fur to go around when I'm done.

Me and Ro

For a person who doesn't like crafts my mother certainly has a lot of ideas! Pretty much when she got here she had me working on this pom pom scarf. I hope I have enough yarn.

I'm still working on my husbands note book, yuck, but the Apple store called today and my baby is ready to be picked up!

And this was Ro's day, she likes when I post her hard work from school. On the left is a laxative, that's all I know. She says concocting this stuff isn't easy. I love hearing about how she brews medicinals from scratch.

Pretty In Pink

This was made with fine mercerized cotton, fun fur and a size N-9.00mm needle. It measures 67" long and uses the same pattern as the others except I only double stitched per stitch on the last row. As a correction you only need 1 skein of fun fur to go around. Using different weight yarns give you totally different results.

It's fun varying a pattern you enjoy.

OK, it's actually been done a little while. I was waiting for my lovely assistant to model it for me. She sleeps when I'm up and is awake when I sleep!

No trouble with loading my picture today and as you can see it seems to be typing for me just fine. Happy day!

Here's something I just whipped up. I had this Light & Lofty yarn laying around for ages. I used the same pattern I've been using, minus one double, double crochet row. I'm sure that's not how you say it but hopefully you get my meaning. I posted the instructions for this on Monday I believe.

Oh, the flowers on the ends are simple due to the thick fuzzy nature of this yarn. Just make a 5 chain connected circle then chain 2. From here I half double crocheted 12 around, yes that makes 13. To finish slip stitch into the first one. Then sew on, have fun.

Rant - Scarf - Rant

It took every ounce  of patience I have to get these pictures loaded. Between Blogspot's revisions and my spotty internet I'm amazed I could post today at all! But as you can see I've at least finished 1 ethereal scarf. Craft stores don't seem to be selling as much eyelash yarn as they once did so no purple. I'll try the other craft stores though, the one I went to was closest. I have 3 of the major ones in the area.

Skittles is my lovely assistant today. I think she likes the brown fuzzy stuff!

My human daughter on the other hand said it looked like a caterpillar.

This is a fun scarf to make.

OK, now a mini rant, I believe Blogspot has forced this new and improved system down my throat. I say this because it was an option in the past advertised as new and improved which I rejected due to the fact that it was hard to work with. I guess I'm stuck with it now. Overall the biggest problem is getting it to type. I had better check out their help, hadn't I!
