Crimson Tide

My sister who lives in Louisiana gave me the low down on Alabama's football teams. She doesn't know a lot herself but she was able to educate me enough.

This cowl/cape or capecowl is under construction. I wanted to get all my knit/crochet work done for this custom order before I have to sit at the sewing machine with that bag lining. My work room is a bit messy at the moment. I'll blame the anteater!

I did get a huge amount of fiber from my buddy 4hornsheep at Etsy. I'll have to take a picture, it was a miracle how she got so much fiber in one box! I'm in needle felting heaven right now.

Karen's Capecowl

It's 40" around and 9 1/2 wide, but it stretches.

I said I was going to try a special cord but a simple one worked out just fine. I like simple solutions.
And this is what I got today, a bag/box from Intercal.

They had this fat quarter, or 1/4 yard of ultra sparse fabric on sale in a color I like.

So ya know what I get to do when I'm finished the anteater?

Developmental Knitting

I'm developing a scarf that is a cowl/infinity scarf and a cape all in one.

Wear the, ribbon in this case, loose for a cowl scarf. I plan on working on a cord that may button or connect at the end, I'm not sure yet.

Cinch it and you have a cape.

What do you think?

Chunky Cowl

 This one went faster...

 I counted stitches better...

 and used a thick & quick yarn.

At first I was only using crochet for small things that went round and round or long skinny things. Now I'm enjoying it for the square things also. Crochet seems more fluid than knitting.

Anyway, like I said once I had the pattern ingrained in my mind this scarf went fast. It's 22" folded, 44" around and 13" tall. Four colors, oatmeal, light gray, charcoal and black. Obviously it took 4 skeins but it would only take 2 to complete this project. The pattern is below on the Lions Brand website.

Custom Cowl Scarf

While I was working on the bunny bag I was also working on this.

 It's also called an Infinity scarf.

I found a really nice pattern on the Lions Brand site. I usually do!

 It's 20" folded, 40" around and 16" high.

Pure wool yarn, how do people wear wool?

It can be worn in a multitude of ways.

 And it's all packaged up for a wonderful woman in Russia.
