I Want to be Needle Felted

William
I turned around today and found William in the middle of my needle felting.
I also had Simon up in the crow's nest, I am never alone!
Simon
I'll show you a couple things I've been doing in between bear stuff. A wool brooch for my friend Fran, don't tell.
A pumpkin for... whatever I made a pumpkin using my yarn method.
The trick is getting the yarn into the shape you want.

Simon

Sweet adorable Simon, (when he's sleeping).

 Even sweeter when he's wool!

 Look, he's not biting me.

He has a soft white underbelly...

 and long stripy tail.

Oh no, he's awake!

Lip Balm Keychain Cat

This was a week long exercise in learning.
How do you make a round open head on top of your lip balm holder?
How do you close the head afterward so you can't see inside?
How do you make 5 tubes all the right diameters you need?
How do you make pointy ears that look similar?

I think the biggest challenge was starting a tube. I had to figure out the technique for doing them. That's something I wouldn't mind showing you next.

Not Enough To Stay Home

We had an extended morning of snow shoveling and late in to school. My sister tells me that 6" would paralyze Louisiana but everyone is where he or she is supposed to be by now. And the kitties are playing nicely, yeah right. I'm off to work on a scarf, but my dad just sent me a box of copper scrap and wants to see some wonderful jewelry come from it.

Like my copper Chimney Swift, but he's been giving me ideas with what else can be done with the copper.

So stay tuned.
