Marvelous Matilda

Do not for any reason make a realistic bear...
because while you make them they'll frustrate you...
 then look ridiculous...
 time will have no meaning...
and then something will go wrong...
but not so wrong that you can't make it right...
and then you find you have fallen in love!

He's Minty Green

My proto-type bear is done!
I've created him for a special project.
 I'll explain later.
 For now...
I'm gonna enjoy this fella who is very soft and huggable!!!

He looks like a Timmy.

Onto the Next

Brown felt bear proves this pattern can work so I'm pressing on with another. This is still not my final bear but this green one will be fun to work and test things out on.

Back To Bears

When it's come to bear making I've always relied on using other peoples patterns.
They're there, why not.
This time around I'm taking the time to make my own. I'm going for a more realistic bear this time so I'm looking at a lot of real bear pictures. I'll let you know how I do.

Harolds Happy!

PLEASE HELP Harold TO ANNIHILATE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

Thank you for everyone's prayers for the MS ride. Great weather and a great day/s was had by all!!! As a team we came close to $10,000 but checks are still being processed so maybe we will get there. We have till the end of the month still.

It's my job now to start making horns for the entire team, I have a year.

Here's Harold

Harold says...

Please Help Me To Annihilate Multiple Sclerosis

My buddy Harold told me he needed horns for his riding team.
They are the RAMS - Riders for the Annihilation of M.S.
The horns stay on with velcro underneath...
and they can be worn in different sets of holes.

When Harold figures out where he wants them he can snip the velcro shorter!

Thanks for the challenge Harold they are my gift to the team!

Harolds Horns

I was skeptical...
but it worked! By the way he wanted ears too.

I pick up the helmet on Sunday. Then we'll deal with making them stay put!

Horns For Harold

I'm commissioned to make ram horns for a bike helmet. They're to stay on at high speed and they're not to poke anybody. We'll see how it goes, any ideas???

Custom Bunny Bag Day 4

I'm getting there but there was no way I was gonna get these metal eyes to work though. I tried everything. I have a mutalated pile of metal brads to show for it.

So I kept moving, what's another way to make pronounced eyes? Well my favorite way of course, needle felt them!

I believe I have all the pieces ready at this point. The straps need a little sewing. I need to sew these pieces on when they dry. Not long now.

Custom Bunny Bag Day 3

I figured out the zipper yesterday and now I have a new challenge. How to attach the eyes!

Custom Bunny Bag Day 2

I made the pattern and already had to change it. I forgot to look at all the pictures for guidance. That's ok, we're all fixed up now!

I'm trying out this super sonic glue that glues anything to fabric. It's supposed to be washable afterwards.

Laying the pieces out, everything looks to be in the right proportion.

These are the outside pieces and inside I'm putting in a pink liner. That's what I'm figuring out now. Please don't ask me about zippers yet!
