Another thank you to Lions Brand patterns!

Chunky Cowl

 This one went faster...

 I counted stitches better...

 and used a thick & quick yarn.

At first I was only using crochet for small things that went round and round or long skinny things. Now I'm enjoying it for the square things also. Crochet seems more fluid than knitting.

Anyway, like I said once I had the pattern ingrained in my mind this scarf went fast. It's 22" folded, 44" around and 13" tall. Four colors, oatmeal, light gray, charcoal and black. Obviously it took 4 skeins but it would only take 2 to complete this project. The pattern is below on the Lions Brand website.

Custom Cowl Scarf

While I was working on the bunny bag I was also working on this.

 It's also called an Infinity scarf.

I found a really nice pattern on the Lions Brand site. I usually do!

 It's 20" folded, 40" around and 16" high.

Pure wool yarn, how do people wear wool?

It can be worn in a multitude of ways.

 And it's all packaged up for a wonderful woman in Russia.

Ok, after soaking in cold water, after another round of vinegar, I'm ready to squeegee and hang again.

So far so good...

...maybe...maybe rinse some more?

I think I could rinse until the cows came home.

I went back online and got some bad news, vinegar and salt don't work. Only using the right dyes in the first place and maybe using a setting product that you can only find online. Please! So I went to my favorite yarn site, Lions Brand and asked them the question. I told them I had bought their competitors black cotton yarn and could they insure their own black cotton wouldn't bleed?

Here's their response:

Hi, Our yarns are tested for color fastness. However, 

due to chemical composition differences in municipal 

water supplies, this may vary. It's always best to 

check this first on a swatch. Adding salt and/or vinegar

Well, after dealing with vinegar already my only choice here is to try their black cotton and test how color fast they really are!!! Anyway, thanks Lions Brand.

I know I had a bigger problem with the bleeding because it involved a lighter color neighbor. My craft partner assures me she'd give this pug a good home without over handling, most generous.
