My Sister Whines

The special title is because my sister reminds me how long it's been since I last posted. I've been working on a baby gift for the past month along with my bear.

 The lamb knit up pretty quick.

But who knew granny squares took so long.

It's already to go now though.

 I caught the girls playing king of the mountain or tippy turtles, whatever you'd like to call it.

Often I'll walk in the room to a huge splash as they see me and scramble back into the water, silly turtles!

Baby Blue Sea Turtle

 Well Turtle Day has passed, that was May 23rd but I saw a picture of baby see turtle the other day.

Anyway here's how Baby Blue got put together.

That's my double needle I broke before but I'm still using it! I know I'm talking about them breaking a lot but these needles are very thin, these particular needles last a long time considering.

The Girls Feel Special Today

 The girls where wanting another blog day.

 Spotty was feeling pretty.

 They just got a new turtle tub.

Crush Crush (Crusher) even posed for me. I didn't name her!

Todays Job

It was a long winter but winter's over now, it was time to scrub the tub! No before and after pictures, it wasn't that bad but it wasn't that good either.

Since this is a family show I won't tell you what's involved in cleaning a turtle tank. I told Daniel to get the hose out. It's so much easier to do outside.

Over the winter I finally did what all turtle owners should do, that is to feed your turtles less! That has really helped in their care and it's better for them. Spotty and Crusher are sweeties but they're a lot of work.

Heinz Morning

Yes we had a Heinz morning. The warblers were passing through, no eagles...

but friendly little deer...

and little sliders needing saving.

Mom's doing her duty holding the turtle. I had to save a box turtle on the way out of the refuge. What a nice walk!

As you might be able to tell I've tried to make turtle care as easy as possible. A plastic container like this is so much easier to manage than a glass tank. They have a great view, in fact Crusher loves looking out the window.

Today I'll be escaping to my friends house again. She's going to show me how to make soldered jewelry. I'll let you know how we do.
