This past week I gave in and opened a Facebook account. I promised myself I wouldn't but it was the only way to communicate with a person that had a Facebook account. It's made my sister happy anyway and I get to see all the embarrassing pictures she puts up! Anyway people tell me how addictive it is...
but I'd say making earflap hats is more addictive and satisfying!!!
Unfortunately that means my design group (Gilbert) is designing himself a hat, old style which is harder, for me to knit. Doesn't he have enough by now! See my older post on this topic:

Craft Trade
I actually got something out of the deal this time.
While I sat and worked on Gil's new hat, he made me something.
I call that a fair trade.
He's so cute...
...so I made him into a pin.
The needle felting kit was a good investment!

New Hat
Gilbert is forever sticking skeins of thick and quick at me and saying it's time for a new hat. Well, this isn't Gil, it's Ro, up in her room doing school work.
I made this hat to match Gil's scarf and he said it was too girlie. One never knows what girlie is anymore but that's fine.
Ro asked whose hat it was and that she'd like it, so that was settled!

Hats Hats Hats
Gosh, I guess I've been making these hats for Gil a couple years now.
He absolutely loves them and so do his friends. Which is not so good for me.
I think I'm up to a dozen hats for him and friends.
He doesn't want to be posted but didn't mind modeling slyly.
I'm hoping this one is too girlie for him!!!

Each one has it's own personality he says, not just different colors but how they feel and wear.
This is his latest. I started to make one for another purpose and he declared his love of the color I was using and then it was his. He is my designer, choosing the colors that go together. He doesn't want to be posted but didn't mind modeling slyly.
I often consult with Gil on my work, he's a good critic.

Earflap Hats
My son loves these earflap hats. The gray and black one is the latest and it was made for someone else. Gil stole it! How often do our kids come up to us and say they love something we've made? I'll need to do the next one in his least favorite colors though I'm sure you can tell he likes most.
