Finished Raglan Sleeve Sweater

The best part of this sweater was the yarn. It has a great sheen, striping and uneven weight. Perfect for the size 11 circular needles I used.

Of course  this was a craft store brand yarn that I found on clearance that I'd imagine they won't be making anymore, typical. You'll notice in the top picture the end of the sleeve rolls due to the jersey stitch used. In the bottom picture it doesn't. To make the sleeve lay flat I ran one row of single crochet over the finished edge. This was great because it doesn't look like I stuck crochet at the end, it just looks like a neat end row.

Now I'm gonna have a homemade muffin made with sweet potato puree and very little sugar. To read an interesting article about muffins and their place in society go to the Summer Tomato and get educated.

Sneak Peek

You have to get into the rhythm of raglan. It's very unforgiving until you figure it out. This is another pattern that I had to do and then reconstruct. The  underarm was not long enough so I had to rework the numbers for a wider longer sleeve. Plus I need to turn a cap sleeve into a long sleeve. Stay tuned!

I must say though my new bigger stitch markers are working great.

It looks like I got my increases right, thank goodness.

Just Started A Baby Sweater

No, there are no babies around here, though my daughter is starting to talk marriage. We'll keep that on the down low. Anyway, Vicki over at Knitting Dragonflies has been doing a lot of top to bottom sweaters. I am very interested in this technique. Sometimes sewn on sleeves look boxy or don't lay right. Plus they are a pain to do separately and then sew on. A raglan sleeve is very nice. So here I go, starting small.

This is what I have so far. Starting was slow but the pattern repeats and you get into the rhythm.

The bottom part is a drop loop, that should be fun! I'll let you know how it goes.
